We have barely caught our collective breath from the holiday season and we’re already getting out to meet new retailers, show off our collections, and expand the brand!
Next Monday through Wednesday, Anna Zuckerman Luxury will be occupying booth 701 during the Continental Buying Group (CBG) Winter Retreat, being held at the spectacular Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Hotel in Orlando.
As you may recall from when we attended their Tampa retreat last fall, CBG is the largest and most prestigious independent jewelry chain organization in the country. All their members are highly respected and well established with a proven record of success in the industry. And we’re going to give them something to talk about.
The Monday morning retailers breakfast will include, among other things, a new presentation by Anna regarding our history, our amazing product, and the future of our brand. Then Anna is introducing our own Jim Fredrick, director of communications by day, stand up comedian by night, to get everyone in the mood to buy and sell and network their butts off with a laugh.
“I guarantee,” Anna predicts, “we’re going to make an impression. These people are movers and shakers in an incredibly competitive industry that is working diligently to recover from the events of the last few years. We’re doing serious business over the next several days. Let’s start with a laugh!”
“We have been fans of Jim for some time,” she continued. “He spent years establishing himself in the South Florida comedy scene, appearing on Deco Drive and the Comedy Central South Beach Festival, but he had to step away from that dream for a while. We met as he was reestablishing himself last year, we hit it off, I needed someone to head up my communications, and we haven’t had a day without laughter ever since!
“I’m not a comedian,” Anna confirmed. “But even when I do my presentation, it isn’t going to be dry and strictly business. Life is serious enough. I want people to enjoy their work, whether for me or with me, and everyone in our business believes in the healing power of laughter. If they don’t, they’re fired. I’m kidding. We have a very nice reeducation program.”
So, is laughter truly now a component of the brand?
“Are you joking? We’re a demi-precious jewelry design house trying to convince massive independent standard jewelry retailers that they want to do this…that they will be able to cater to a larger client base if they carry our collections. Some of them laugh before we start talking. But when they see for themselves how our pieces sparkle, and when they see the wonder in the eyes of their own customers, seeing something that should sell for tens of thousands of dollars that they can have for hundreds instead, that’s when it’s no longer funny. But there are still plenty of smiles.”
If you are an independent retailer who is unable to make Orlando this week, no fear. The Anna Zuckerman Event Experience will be coming to a town near you in 2022! You can find us at the Atlanta Jewelry Show March 5th & 6th, the JIS Spring show at the Miami Beach Convention Center March 13th thru 15th, and the JCK Las Vegas show in June. And there’s more under consideration (Chicago? Quite possibly), so keep checking here for updates!
