Ready and Able to Clean Your AZL Jewelry at Home?

Anna has 3 "Recipes” to Make it Easy

Did you know Anna is a 2nd-generation jeweler who launched her own traditional jewelry shop more than 20 years ago? In other words, we’ve been doing this for a while, so you can take us at our word when we say professional cleaning products have some extremely harsh chemicals that can do your jewelry more harm than good.

That’s why we wanted to share some natural cleaning methods that are simple and easy to assemble at home to bring out the best possible shine.

Easy – Dish Liquid and Water

Nothing fancy, just rinse the jewelry off much like you would wash your own hands...in mid-2020 (in other words, maybe sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to yourself a couple of times to make sure you’re being thorough).

Moderate – Water and Baking Soda

2 parts water/1 part baking soda, stirred into a paste. You may want to use a bit more water if your jewelry has delicate features. You will want to use an old toothbrush or cleaning wand to apply the cleaner, using gentle movements and motions throughout.

Heavy Duty – Salt Water

To start, you will want to line a cooking pan or casserole dish with a sheet of aluminum foil, and then place each piece of jewelry directly on said foil. Then you want to combine 1 cup of boiling water with 1 tablespoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Pour the mixture onto the jewelry laid out on the foil. Then add ½ a cup of vinegar. See the bubbles?! Feel free to use a spoon to stir, if needed, but the mixture should sit for about 10 minutes either way. Then just rinse your jewelry in cool water and dry your pieces off with a microfiber cloth. Simple and sweet (and salty).

Have you been storing your jewelry, polishing it, and it still doesn’t shine enough? Try one of the recommendations above to bring out the brilliance and check out our Jewelry Care page elsewhere on the site for more suggestions and recommendations on how to get the most from your AZL collections!
